Last Day of 2025

In less than a few hours time — at least in our part of the world — it’ll be 2026 and I’m not entirely sure how I feel about that. I know for a fact that I failed to accomplish much this year, but I also know that it’s no use beating myself up about it. For most people, this year was absolutely trying and if, like myself, you just made it through by the skin of your teeth, you did well. Keep going. Likewise, if you managed to accomplish something this past year, that’s great too. I sincerely mean it, and I hope you all have a wonderful 2026 because you deserve it.

I’m gonna be heading out shortly to ring in the New Year with friends ,family and pints — maybe even a Baileys for good measure — so this is gonna be my last blournal entry of the year. When I return, it’ll officially be the New Year — or at least, it will be on my turf — and I’ll have to decide how I’m gonna go about this whole New Years’ malarkey all over again. I think what I said in this previous blournal entry about aiming to be more mindful of my mobile phone use is a good place to start.

Actually, I think another goal which I probably alluded to in a past blournal entry and that’s to learn the Irish language… or at least learn much more of the Irish language than I already know because my knowledge is mostly limited to a few words and “nollaig shona” (merry Christmas). So… athblhliain faoi mhaise dhuit to my Irish friends and happy New Year to the rest of you all.

See you in 2026.
