Mayday

Well, that’s the first day of May done and dusted. I can’t believe that we’re a third of the way into the year already. I previously asked where the time went in a previous “blournal“ entry so it doesn’t bear repeating.

Not really much to report at the moment, I haven’t been anywhere all too exciting over the last couple of days, although my team did win the Thirsty J’s midweek pub quiz for the second week in a row. That puts on top of the leaderboard. At this point, it’s probably a little hollow of me to say that I don’t really care about winning when our team has dominated the league for almost two years now, but I stand by it. I love doing these midweek quizzes. The craic is always top notch and I enjoy the company of my fellow quizzers.

As always, I’m not really sure what the month of May will entail, although I am excited as hell to see the new Mission: Impossible when it comes out at the end of the month. I’m about an hour away from the nearest IMAX screen, so the possibility of seeing Tom Cruise hanging off the side of a biplane in IMAX is too tantalising for me to wanna pass up. Thunderbolts* is also on my radar and I’m also planning to see the new Final Destination, which is showing in select cinemas next Friday as part of a double bill with the original film. So far, I haven’t made any official plans but it’s a work in progress. The Bardic Theatre is also doing American Idiot and I would love to go see that as well, not just as a big Green Day fan, but also because a few of my friends are involved in the production.

I might also do a bit more work on the website. I’m currently trying to figure out if I could create some kind of checklist, as I’d like to add a “backlog” page to the site where I can check off films and shows that I’ve never seen before, but that’s proving a bit complicated using the current tools at my disposal. I might need to brush up more on my coding skills, but I’ll hopefully be able to make something. The website’s still kind of sparse, which I want to rectify.

It should be a good month, but anything can happen.
