Focus (or lack thereof)

I'm still feeling a bit directionless but getting out on the bike earlier today did help to alleviate some of that frustration and ennui I’m currently facing. I’m not sure how long it’s been since I was on the bike… probably only a few weeks at the most… but for some reason, it feels like I haven’t really went out on the bike for a while now. As the speedometer (pictured above) may indicate, I didn’t necessarily go very far, but that wasn’t my priority. My main priority was to just clear my head and exercise is usually a good way to do that.

It’s surprisingly lovely outside at the moment. I say surprisingly because I was fully expecting it to be wet or, at the very least, slightly drizzly. That forecast didn’t amount to anything, aside from a few small spits of rain in the afternoon. It’s not nearly as sweltering as it was yesterday, or even earlier today for that matter. As of this writing, I’m sitting out on the porch, procrastination under the pretence of being productive. I could perhaps look about finally restringing that electric guitar as the new set of strings I ordered came in the post yesterday, but I’m a little nervous about approaching that process this late in the evening. It’s something that I haven’t done for well over a decade and it’s a little more complicated than I initially assumed. I would personally prefer to approach this task with a fresher pair of eyes tomorrow after I’ve come back from the gym.

I also took a few photos of the sun setting, which I’ll be adding to the “sunsets” gallery, but until then, here’s one to tide you all over…

I like reading, I like gaming and I like watching movies and TV shows, but I haven’t made the time to do much of any of these things as of late, especially reading. I used to love reading books when I was younger and studying English literature in school really helped give me a lifelong appreciation of the written word, but I haven’t made the time to read much as of late. Usually, I start reading a book but I never actually get around to finishing it, which is an unfortunate habit and something that I’d really like to break going forward. Maybe I can get back into gaming while I’m at it. Who knows?
