A belated post-birthday blournal
OK so this one’s a little overdue. My intention was to have an update banged out on Sunday before I went out to the barbecue that I was selling tickets for, but I never got around to writing anything because I felt absolutely fucking bleutered by the time Monday rolled around. Who would’ve guessed that having an active social life takes a lot out of you?
So… another year to go before I hit the big 3-0…
So far, my 29th has been a relatively subdued affair. Not complaining by any means. Just observing. I’m well aware that birthdays tend to be a lot less exciting as you get older but I’m looking — not that they have to be — but that’s fine by me. I’m heading out for the night and I have a feeling that no matter what happens, there’ll be plenty of craic.
My last day as a 28 year old
Didn’t feel like blournalling yesterday because it wasn’t a particularly exciting day. I spent a lot of time playing shooting things and blowing shit up, collecting bolts and levelling up my health and weapons in Ratchet and Clank: Going Commando (or Ratchet and Clank 2 as it’s referred to in PAL territories). Maybe a little too much, but goddamn, it was way too much fun.

No, this is NOT a weather update. I just couldn’t think of a title for this one.
You know… even though I’ve been blournalling for almost two years now, I feel like I’ve neglected this website in that time. I suppose I could link to all those times where I’ve talked about my ambitions for the website, but I really don’t want to go back through all of them.
A random blournal entry about yesterday’s not-so-exciting activities, video games, sports and politics, etc.
So yesterday I went and got myself another hair and beard trim. After that, I went door-to-door around the parish selling tickets for an upcoming annual barbecue that’s happening this Sunday and finally, I closed out the night by whupping Captain Kwark’s ass in Ratchet and Clank. Probably not the productive use of my time but all in all, a pretty good day regardless.
Don’t Kill The Discs
Figured I might as well share this Change.org petition: https://www.change.org/p/don-t-kill-the-disc-tell-sony-to-keep-physical-playstation-games. I signed it last week and I’d strongly but politely encourage anybody who hasn’t already signed it to do the same. I’m not sure if it’ll do much to move the needle, but this is an opportunity to let our voices be heard.
Football may or may not be coming home, but did it ever actually leave in the first place?
Well, I bit the bullet and watched the England vs. Mexico match last night… kinda. I dozed off about twenty minutes in so I missed most of the highlights, but I did wake up to see that England had won and made it to the quarter finals so… good on them, I guess.
The end of another weekend (and the continuing FUBARing of my body clock)
Hello once again…
Right now, I’m currently sitting in the local pub debating with myself over whether or not to stay up and watch the England v. Mexico match this morning. Given that I’ve pretty badly FUBAR’d my body clock as of late — and playing Ratchet and Clank until well after half-two in the morning didn’t exactly help matters — it’s probably not advisable, but at the same time, I do wanna keep a bit of a closer eye on sporting events going forward. Even if I’m not necessarily a fan, I know it makes for good conversation in the local parish.
Raging against the digiverse hellscape
Like most people, I’m feeling pretty pissed off about the recent news that Sony would be officially ceasing physical disc production on all new games released after January 2028, but it doesn’t really help when I’m being bombarded with memes and reaction pieces in my social media feeds.

Hello once again…
Obviously, I have NOT been a very good blournaller as of late. My last post was way back at the start of May and now it’s nearly July so I think some kind of update is long overdue.
In case you forgot, today is also a Bank Holiday
Part of me wanted to call this post “The Star Wars Bank Holiday Monday Special” as May the Fourth happened to occur on a Bank Holiday Monday this year, but I decided against it.

Looking back on last year, I really made such a big fucking deal about how I was going to watch the entire Star Wars saga in chronological order all throughout the month of May.
I should probably just keep my laptop away from my cups of tea as much as humanly possible from here on out…
Ugh… my clumsy ass got off to a great start today by spilling tea over the laptop. Luckily, there’s no immediate signs of damage and everything still seems to be working fine, but goddamn, I’m annoyed at myself for being so careless. I know accidents happen but this could’ve been a costly accident. Hell, it might still be. What a way to start a Sunday morning, huh.
This is just a quick test run before beer o’clock…
Thought I might do a short (but not particularly sweet) post before I head out to the pub as I would like to start using email campaigns for my blournal updates. This is just a test run to see if this actually works.
May Day, May Day, May Day…
It's the first of May and I’m scratchy my head and wondering where the fuck the time has gone.
Started the day off on as good of a note as I could by spending an hour and a half exercising down at the hub. It was productive and I felt great afterwards, but the warm weather definitely makes things more difficult. After lunch, Dad and I went out for another wee dander, this time in Cabin Wood, which is this lovely little spot located just on the outskirts of Cookstown. Once again, I took plenty of photos…
A few minutes in Derry…
Went out for a drive earlier today with my dad. No real destination in mind, but we did stop in Derry and took a short dander through Bay Road Park Local Nature Reserve. I’m glad we did because I managed to get a few decent photos along the shore.
Shawshank, Xenomorphs and Spring Weather
Sitting out on the patio at the moment trying to figure out what to include in this blournal entry. Today’s one of many beautiful days we’ve had over the past week or so. The sun is shining, the birds are tweeting and although it’s warm, there’s a subtle breeze in the air, so it’s absolutely sweltering.
Goddamn it
So I was writing a blournal post on how today was an absolutely beautiful day weatherwise, but for some reason, the tab closed and I lost most of what I had written up until that point — even though I could swear I had saved everything — and the strangest part is… I’m all but certain that I didn’t even click out of it. The tab just shut down for no goddamn reason. Definitely an odd glitch if there ever was one.
Bits and pieces
Hello, again. I see that it’s been over a week since I last posted anything on here so I might as well rectify that. Alas, I was hoping to have this written much sooner but anxiety and procrastination are a lethal combination.
Surely it’s still Monday somewhere in the world…
Goddamn, I’m feeling fucking knackered right now, which is probably a good thing at this time of the night. I should be getting ready to head up the wooden hill but I just wanna sit up, listen to music and watch whatever’s on TV. What can I say? I think there’s just a part of me that likes being a night owl. It’s pretty irresistible, I’m not gonna lie.
