BLOURNAL
Another weekend is at an end
So the weekend is at an end once again and I just got back home from the pub over an hour ago. Truth be told, I probably would’ve left a little sooner but my dad wanted to watch the tail end of the Masters tournament. I’m not really into golf so I didn’t pay much heed to it but I’m happy to see Rory McIlroy win. It seems like he had a bit of a rough start but kudos to him for coming out on top once again.
The latest edition of “I’m not American but…”
Not in the best form this morning after all of Trump’s bluster yesterday. Actually, “bluster” seems like a huge understatement in this case because the nutjob literally threatened to enact genocide over his social media if he didn’t get what he wanted.
New Years’ Resolutions
Not gonna lie, it has been extremely difficult trying to come up with resolutions for this year given… everything that’s been going on in the world over the last couple of weeks. To be fair, January is usually a slow month and I never go into the start of a year with any major expectations, so I probably shouldn’t be so critical of myself, but… obviously, that’s never stopped me before.
Could we please have a normal 2026? Pretty please? Or is that too much to ask?
Sigh.
Look, I said I wasn’t going to doomscroll in 2026, but when the world is figuratively and literally on fire and the powers-at-be are actively pouring gasoline on the flames, it’s hard to resist the temptation.
Midweek Musings
Got back from the gym a couple of hours ago, so now I’ve got a bit of time to ponder before I head out for the midweek quiz.
Still kicking
Hi.
Just thought I’d post something to let you all know that I’m still kicking. I think my last update was at the end of May and not much has happened since then… at least in my own wee bubble.
Blue Monday
You know, it’s kind of fitting that today is Blue Monday, especially because a certain someone’s inauguration is mere hours away at the time of this writing.
Ice Photo…
…if I do say so myself.
Election Day
Hi, everyone.
So, I spent a significant portion of yesterday trying to write a “blournal” entry that was supposed to be a look back at this year’s Halloween, but it unintentionally morphed into a diatribe about the real-world horror that is the presidential election.
