A few minutes in Derry…
Went out for a drive earlier today with my dad. No real destination in mind, but we did stop in Derry and took a short dander through Bay Road Park Local Nature Reserve. I’m glad we did because I managed to get a few decent photos along the shore…
I was particularly impressed by this bay just below the Foyle Bridge. Not only does it convey the sheer height of the Foyle Bridge but it also looks like it would make for a great shooting location. Man, I wish I knew of this place back when I was in uni because I could’ve made use of it for one of my projects or suggested it to my classmates as a potential filming spot. Oh, those were the days. Pardon me for being a little sentimental there for a moment, but revisiting Derry is such a blast nostalgic for me. My time as a college student — the whole experience of living away from home, meeting people from all across Ulster and beyond, trying to make a name for myself as a creative force and getting a taste of the nightlife in Derry — was genuinely one of the most exciting time of my life. Some might argue that going to college is a waste of time and money, but for me, the entire experience was absolutely worth it. I really enjoyed it and I got a degree in Cinematic Arts for my troubles, so I don’t see it as a waste personally.
After that, we went home and I’ve spent most of the evening doing very little outside of playing mobile games which are a total fucking time-waster yet they’re also very addictive. I need to be more productive with my time.
