Another weekend is at an end

So the weekend is at an end once again and I just got back home from the pub over an hour ago. Truth be told, I probably would’ve left a little sooner but my dad wanted to watch the tail end of the Masters tournament. I’m not really into golf so I didn’t pay much heed to it but I’m happy to see Rory McIlroy win. It seems like he had a bit of a rough start but kudos to him for coming out on top once again.

I’m also pretty happy to see Viktor Orbán finally receiving a long-overdue trouncing in the parliamentary elections with Péter Magyar being elected as the new Prime Minister of Hungary. I’m not sure what to make of Magyar, especially since he was a former ally of Orbán’s and he self-identifies as a “conservative liberal”… whatever that means. Regardless, I think most people are just happy to see what is hopefully the end of Orbánism because for all intents and purposes, he was basically Trump before Trump. So is his defeat a sign of things to come? That maybe… just maybe far-right populists don’t have our best interests at heart. Only time will tell. In the meantime, this is a step in the right direction.

Anyway, I’d better head off to bed. I hope to hit the ground running when I get up so… take care.
