I should probably just keep my laptop away from my cups of tea as much as humanly possible from here on out…

Ugh… my clumsy ass got off to a great start today by spilling tea over the laptop. Luckily, there’s no immediate signs of damage and everything still seems to be working fine, but goddamn, I’m annoyed at myself for being so careless. I know accidents happen but this could’ve been a costly accident. Hell, it might still be. What a way to start a Sunday morning, huh.

Moving on from that fiasco, I’m flirting with the idea of creating email campaigns for the blournal, hence my previous blournal entry, which was more of a test run than anything particularly. I sent the email to myself to see that it would actually work and…

…yeah, I’d say the results are promising. I’m still trying to figure out how exactly email campaigns work but this is a good start.

I spent a bit of time with Alice yesterday. We went for a wee dander around the Springhill estate in Moneymore and took some photos of the turret and surrounding woodland. Here’s some of the ones I took…

…and here’s one that Alice took of me, looking appropriately steely and determined. Mum says I look pretty professional in this photo, so full credit to Alice for capturing that side of me.

After that, we went to Cookstown, got some lunch and did a bit of windowshopping. All in all, it was a great catch-up.

Right now, I’m rewatching Thunderball on TV. For some reason, this was the one Bond film that captivated me the most as a kid getting into the franchise. I think part of that is because I really found the underwater sequences so impressively done, especially for a film made in the mid 60s. No joke, I was absolutely mesmerised by the whole scene where Largo and his men steal the bombs from the Vulcan when I was younger. I don’t think anybody will ever truly understand how much that scene blew me away. I know it’s not a universally beloved film, but I’ve always had a soft spot for it. The music’s great, Sean Connery’s great, Luciana Paluzzi as Fiona Volpe is an all-timer Bond femme fatale and hell, I even still like the underwater sequences for as slow and cumbersome as they can be.

So there’s not much of the movie left and I’m gonna be heading out to the pub shortly so I’ll wrap things up by saying ciao.

This is just a quick test run before beer o’clock…
