Spring is springing

It was a surprisingly decent week… at least weatherwise. There’s been the occasional dull day with drizzle and downpour, but there has just as many days with blue skies and sunshine. Granted, it is still kind of chilly at times, but at the moment, the skies are clear in a way that seemed almost impossible even a week ago. Hell, I even managed to eek out a few decent sunset photos over the last two days, which you can see on my Instagram. I might make them available on this website further down the line but… I’m a chronic procrastinator and I want to add some things to the website before I do anything of that.

Well, I was gonna write about the weather and how this year has been kind of a washout so far, but I don’t really know what else there is to add to that particular subject. Mum gave me a new word to add to my vocabulary this morning… scaraveen (or “scairbhín”). The word has its roots in the Irish phrase “garbh shíon na gCuach” and translates to “rough weather of the cuckoo”.
