BLOURNAL
I meet Tyres from Spaced and I’m pretty happy about that…
It’s been an incredible week in the life of Danny Quinn. The Belfast Media Festival is still ongoing at the time of this writing, but I have plenty of time to kill before I go to my next event. So far it’s been an incredible experience. I met a few old friends, ran into a couple of my former work colleagues and I met many talented individuals from the film and media industry: actors, writers, directors, producers, YouTubers, etc.
Last night’s viewing (and my first day at the Belfast Media Festival)
Hi, all.
I landed at the MAC earlier this morning and I still have a bit of time to write something before I head in for my first event.
I know it’s already Monday but it still feels like a Sunday to me…
It’s that time of night again where I’m not entirely sure whether it’s officially today or tomorrow. I should probably be in bed by now but my mind’s not exactly feeling tired yet and yes… I’m well aware that I’m not doing my brain any goddamn favours by typing up blournal entries at half-two in the morning.
Midweek Musings
Got back from the gym a couple of hours ago, so now I’ve got a bit of time to ponder before I head out for the midweek quiz.
Back to the Future
Well, Back to the Future is back in cinemas this week for its 40th anniversary. I saw it yesterday and… yeah, it’s still great, which is hardly surprising. Back to the Future is one of the most unanimously beloved films of all time and for good reason.
I know it’s only been a week but it feels a hell of a lot longer
I know I said I was gonna update this blournal on a more regular basis but for some reason, I just haven’t been felt like writing anything for the past week or so.
Looks Like I’ll Be Seeing Jump Ropes In My Dreams Tonight
Well, it took me more than a few tries but I finally managed to obtain the “Jump Rope Genius” power moon in Super Mario Odyssey.
Another Wasted Week
Well, that's another week done and dusted where I didn’t really do much.
Shepherd’s Delight
Man, the sky was fucking beautiful tonight. It's just a pity that I didn't have the opportunity to capture it in its full glory because this photo simply does NOT do it justice.
Friday
Today's workout session, I feel, was perfectly cromulent as The Simpsons would say. I’ve definitely found my groove with using the rowing and cycling machines, but using the dumbbells is kind of a mixed bag.
A small update
Hi, all.
I know it’s been well over a week since my last blournal entry. Apologies for that.
The Weekend’s Almost At An End
Today, I had an extended lie-in which felt surprisingly good and I also did a cycle around the parish. Obviously, it’s not the most eventful day, but I’m still pretty proud of myself for getting out on the bike and racking up some decent mileage.
Fatalism is not an option
Apologies to Earth Wind & Fire, but I did not remember the twenty-first night of September this year. Ah, well. It’s still a banger of a song and it makes for a fun meme, and I guess there is always next year.
TLC Overload
The anxiety still lingers about ever so slightly, so to make up for that, I’m trying to give myself a little bit of extra TLC… although don’t worry, I’m still working out at the local hub.
Exercise and endorphins
I’ve been feeling a little sluggish lately — most likely a side effect of all the partying I did over the weekend — so I started this week off in typical fashion by going to the gym and working out.
A wee bit of craic…
It’s not often when you get a weekend where Friday, Saturday AND Sunday night are absolutely buzzing but that’s the best way to describe the atmosphere and overall vibe in Lavery’s this weekend.
Distractions
As I alluded to in my previous blournal entry, I’ve recently been worrying myself sick about the current state of the world. It’s not fun, it’s not productive and it does nothing for me except send my anxiety levels through the roof, but we’ve been over that already.
Doomscrolling
Hi, everyone.
I know it’s been a few days since I lasted posted anything. I know three or four days isn’t that much of an absence in the grand scheme of things, but you know me, you know I don’t like to leave people hanging, so…
Werewolves’ Delight
Took a shot of the moon earlier. No, it’s not exactly a blood moon like last night but it’s close enough.
This Weekend
It’s been a pretty busy weekend for me, which I already alluded to in a previous blournal post.
Yesterday, I saw Conor McPherson’s The Weir at the Olympia Theatre in Dublin and it is a strange play… definitely a hard one to explain the appeal of…
